LYN FOOTBALL CLUB SUPPORTER STRAPPED IN BED STRAIGHT-JACKET

The popular group 'Bjølsen Valsemølle' recently recorded their new music video here at Oslo Prison. The Norwegian Lyn Football Club Supporter they brought with them was actually supposed to have a different role in this, but when they saw the old bed in the prison museum, straps and all, the temptation was too big to resist …

'Bjølsen Valsemølle' (Bjølsen is a district within Oslo City, and 'Valsemølle' means a rotating mill – Bjølsen has such a mill) is a genuine Oslo East band, who the supporters club of the very popular Norwegian Football Team 'Vålerenga' have warmly embraced. Among their most well-known recordings is "Vålerenga kjerke" (kjerke = Oslo slang for church), which is sung with immense gusto by supporters 16 minutes before kick-off at each home game.

Lyn supporter
"Are you from Oslo? Do you love Vålerenga most", sings Trond Ingebretsen in the new record " Over elva" (English: “Across the River”). And there’s precious little point in Lyn
supporter Svein Fjellstad protesting now.

As they were coming to Oslo Prison to record the music video for the launch of their new record, it was natural for them to bring along a real supporter from the rival Oslo team of Lyn Football Club, and to ensure he was tormented in some way or other.  Once here, they were immediately enthused by opportunities afforded by the bed straight-jacket. The prison wishes to emphasise that this is no longer in use!!

It’s now seven years since 'Bjølsen Valsemølle' amused the Norwegian people with their touching songs about life in Oslo and the people who live there. Now it’s time to amuse and reach out to them again. On 17. September, their new record - 'Over elva' (English: Across the River) - will be available. It will be a double record with 13 newly written songs and 11 new recorded versions of their old hits.

As soon as the video is available it will be posted at this site.
